NORDIC STAR is a 96’ (29m) Lantana built in 1969, designed as an economical cruiser and long-range pilothouse motor yacht. She was custom-built by Lantana Shipyard in Florida with Hargrave naval architecture and interior design, and features a welded aluminum hull and superstructure with a semi-displacement hull form.
She has benefited from meaningful investment over the years, including a major 2014/2015 refit and a 2025 full exterior paint job taken down to bare metal, along with fresh varnish, new isinglass on the aft deck, a stainless steel bow shield/anchor guard, hull sounding and inspection, and serviced running gear.
Powered by twin Caterpillar D343Ts (460hp each), she cruises at 10 knots, reaches a top speed of 13 knots, and offers an approximate 3,000nm range. Naiad fin stabilizers provide comfort underway, and a Wesmar 57hp bow thruster (2011) makes close-quarters maneuvering straightforward. She is equipped with four helm stations — pilothouse, flybridge, and two wing stations — giving excellent visibility and control. Navigation is supported by a comprehensive Furuno electronics suite (newly updated in 2015).
The interior was fully updated during the 2014/2015 refit, including new teak joinery, new teak-and-holly soles throughout, and all-new soft goods and upholstery. The main salon is bright, thanks to large panoramic windows, and finished in satin teak for a classic feel. Lounge seating is arranged aft, with a formal dining area forward. Features include a 55” Samsung flat-screen TV, Yamaha audio system, wine cooler, beverage refrigerator, and a day head.
The forward main-deck galley is practical and well-equipped, with stainless countertops, dual stainless sinks, a Bosch four-burner electric range and oven, Panasonic microwave, Sub-Zero refrigerator and freezer, commercial Della ice maker, KitchenAid dishwasher, and a washer/dryer. Storage and workspace are generous, supporting extended cruising.
Accommodations are arranged for six guests in three staterooms, with space for five crew forward and clear separation between guest and crew areas. The full-beam master stateroom amidships on the lower deck features a king-size berth, built-in settee, large portlights, and substantial hanging lockers and drawer storage. The en-suite includes a marble countertop vanity and separate enclosed stall shower with updated fixtures and finishes.
Two guest staterooms, located port and starboard on the lower deck, each offer twin berths, private en-suite heads with marble vanity countertops and enclosed stall showers, built-in storage, portlights, and individual climate controls. Crew accommodations forward include a dedicated captain’s cabin, additional crew stateroom, and a crew mess/lounge with an extra berth, plus separate access from guest areas and an emergency escape hatch to the foredeck.
On deck, her classic Hargrave pilothouse profile and traditional teak decking are complemented by the recent 2025 paintwork. The aft deck and cockpit provide two distinct seating and dining areas, enclosed with weather-protected isinglass (2025). Wide walk-around side decks lead to a spacious foredeck with built-in seating, dual stainless anchor pockets with rollers, an IDEAL electric windlass, and two galvanized Baldt 300lb anchors. The flybridge includes a secondary helm station, seating, and storage. A welded aluminum swim platform with swim ladder completes the stern.
With her robust welded-aluminum construction, Hargrave pedigree, approximate 3,000nm range, extensive 2014/2015 interior refit, and comprehensive 2025 exterior refresh, NORDIC STAR presents as a capable long-range cruiser with classic lines and updated systems, ready for continued passage making.
