The 1996 Hatteras 70 Sportdeck IMAGINE is an excellent representation of Hatteras’ evolution in design, featuring a modern aft deck and spiral staircase leading to a Euro swim platform. Her profile is aesthetically pleasing with structured lines, a deep V-hull and sharp entry, providing a safe, dry and comfortable experience while underway. IMAGINE’s current owner has made many beautiful improvements and upgrades. Her carpet was replaced with Amtico flooring throughout, a highly-desirable product that is seen on many of today’s new yachts. She received new overheads and LED lighting on dimmer switches to accent the salon, galley and pilothouse. All wood treatments have been sanded, and coatings applied to showcase the carpentry throughout her interior.
Time and money have been spent on updating and upgrading the living areas of the vessel, including the flooring, overhead, and lighting. The full-beam salon is massive and open, connecting to the forward gourmet galley, so no one feels isolated when preparing meals. The salon is surrounded by large windows that provide a bright and spacious atmosphere. Moving forward to the open galley, you will discover upgraded appliances, such as a dishwasher, microwave, stove/oven and refrigerator, making the galley fully functional. Additionally, a large 15” X 33” stainless steel sink is located to port, complete with a large window for natural light to enter. The galley is finished off with new granite countertops.
The full-beam master stateroom can be accessed privately from the salon and boasts a king-size bed with an exotic, carved hardwood headboard. This warm and inviting stateroom also has his and her bathrooms and ample drawer and closet storage. The stateroom is designed to allow for natural airflow through the opening portholes, but it also has reverse-cycled air conditioning for additional comfort.
The guest staterooms are accessible from the stairwell in the pilothouse. The VIP stateroom has a queen-size walkaround bed and features a unique turtle screen wall, along with an ensuite head. There is another stateroom with over/under berths and a full head. Moving forward, the V-berth has been converted into an office space, with access to another full head/day head. All toilets on the vessel have been replaced with a new freshwater electric Tecma toilet system.
The exterior of IMAGINE is still in its original condition and has a significant amount of life remaining. Recently, the vessel underwent a full buff and wax, revealing a glossy finish. The stainless steel exterior is in excellent condition.
The flybridge has two helm chairs with full engine controls and electronics. Additionally, there is seating for up to 10 people, and a davit is available for launching and retrieving the tender located at the aft of the vessel.

There are many ways to board IMAGINE, either the port or starboard side via the Passerelle forward of midship, straight into the pilothouse or via the swim platform where you walk up the spiral staircase to the very comfortable aft deck with icemaker and sink to starboard with seating to watch those beautiful sunsets.
Entering into the open salon you will notice new overheads and lighting above to the refinished wood trims along the sides to the new flooring. You will not feel like you are on a 1996 vessel. A large L-shaped leather sofa to port is where you can relax and watch TV.
Forward of the salon is the galley. This entire area is a great place to entertain with the open floorplan style. The galley has very fresh appliances throughout and updated countertops.
Moving forward through a doorway is the lower helm station/pilothouse. A new leather covering on the bench seat faces the helm. The helm's layout is set to easily read the gauges and reach the controls.
Turning to port and up the interior stairs lead you to the flybridge. There are two helm seats for the Captain and mate while the guests can sit around the very large U-shaped settee with two tables aft. Behind the U-shaped settee is the davit and tender location.
Walking down the spiral staircase in the salon leads you to the full beam king size master stateroom with cupboard spaces up the sides and a walk-in closet. His-and-Hers head features a shower/tub that separates the heads. The private master stateroom is separated from the other staterooms because of the engine room midship. One can enter through the door here or walk through the engine room to the other door and enter the VIP stateroom. A full ensuite head is located to starboard that adjoins this stateroom. Moving forward up three steps is the day head/V-berth head. All heads are fully complete with toilet, shower and wash basin. Outside the head is the laundry closet with a stacked washer and dryer.
To port is the guest stateroom with bunks and its own ensuite head. The V-berth stateroom has been transformed in an office / art room. This can quite easily be transformed back into a stateroom with the inclusion of a bed.

IMAGINE had been used as a liveaboard before the current owner purchased her in 2019. They brought the vessel back to a cruiser style vessel with the many upgrades and preventive maintenance.
The vessel is ready for the next owner that is looking to head out cruising or use as a liveaboard.
