COMPASS ROSE is a 160’ (48.8m) aluminum long-range displacement yacht built by C & G Boatworks in 2011 and refit in 2015. Designed and engineered for global cruising, she delivers the range, systems redundancy and operational capability often associated with significantly larger expedition platforms, while remaining within the highly desirable 50-metre class. Constructed with an aluminum hull and superstructure and measuring approximately 621 gross tons, she pairs strength and efficiency with impressive volume in a well-balanced explorer profile.
Powered by twin Caterpillar 3508B main engines, COMPASS ROSE cruises comfortably at 12 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 15 knots and offers an impressive range of over 9,000 nautical miles at 10 knots. Offshore credentials are reinforced by substantial fuel capacity, gravity-fed day tanks, a fuel centrifuge purification system and a double-hull fuel tank configuration.
Her engineering infrastructure is built around autonomy and redundancy, with three 100 kW generators, emergency battery reserves, redundant sea chests, extensive fuel and oil management systems, oversized tankage and commercial-grade electrical installations. Two high-capacity watermakers, copper-nickel raw water plumbing and Hydro-Pac water pressure regulation further support extended remote operations. Practical serviceability is also a priority, with soft patches in the decks allowing crane access to the engine room.
Accommodations are configured for 10 guests in five staterooms, including a king master, three queen VIP, and one double twin cabin. Crew quarters accommodate up to 10 in five cabins, allowing for a fully staffed program suitable for extended cruising. The yacht’s 36-foot beam provides generous interior volume and comfortable living spaces throughout.
Her navigation and communications suite includes Furuno radar systems, gyrocompass, autopilot, TimeZero plotting software, FLIR night vision, KVH satellite communications, and Starlink Maritime high-speed connectivity, ensuring operational confidence both offshore and at anchor.
COMPASS ROSE also benefits from a substantial tender and support inventory geared for fishing, diving and remote exploration, including a 42’ Gamefisherman walkaround (main tender), a 30’ Munson Pack Cat landing craft, a 20’ Zodiac RIB, two 2020 Sea-Doo EX Sport personal watercraft and two inflatable paddleboards. Safety systems are robust and comprehensive, with multi-point fire suppression, firefighting stations, survival equipment and life rafts exceeding typical recreational standards.
