A true gentleman's yacht, NADAN is a modern classic fusing the highest levels of build quality with the sophistication and glamor of the 1920s' Golden Age of yachting. Commissioned by an experienced American yachtsman and delivered in 2009, NADAN was designed and built by USA-based Burger Boat Company, in association with celebrated naval architect Bruce King. The successful collaboration saw NADAN, previously named Sycara IV, awarded the 2010 ShowBoats Design Award for Best Naval Architecture, among others. Her hull was designed to create minimal wake and her mast stacks can be removed for low bridges, making her the ideal vessel for exploring the inland waterways of New England. Having completed a comprehensive refit in 2021, NADAN is in immaculate condition for New England summers and tropical winters in the Caribbean.
NADAN’s classical interior is a Ken Freivokh masterpiece, with glossy Madrone Burl wall panels enhanced with inlaid Macassar Ebony throughout. The décor is a study in 1920s’ Art Deco design harking back to charters of yesteryear. The main salon has the feel of a well-heeled gentleman’s study with a peach onyx-topped sit-up bar and large sofas for drinks and sharing tales of the day’s adventures. The lounge area leads through to a separate dining room with a timber table seating 10 for elegant dinners prepared by NADAN’s talented chef. Double doors lead to a veranda for enjoying a cigar or simply taking in the stunning views. A more intimate and cozy lounge area can be found in the wheelhouse with astonishing views from the surrounding windows. It’s the place to head for coffee and brandy when the weather turns chilly or for a quiet escape with a good book.
NADAN’s four guest cabins provide luxurious accommodation for eight people, including a stunning full-beam main deck master stateroom with a beautiful marble-clad en-suite. On the lower deck is a full beam VIP stateroom with gorgeous built-in sofa seating and steps up to the bed, a double stateroom and a twin cabin each with generous en-suite shower rooms and rich wood paneling.
Outside, beautiful deck spaces include a dining area aft on the main deck and a lovely lounge area curved along the canoe stern. The wide side decks offer even more areas for seating, including integrated cushioned seats for one that are perfect for watching the world go by. The foredeck boasts a sofa in front of the bridge and behind the outdoor helm station for incredible forward views. There are also cushioned benches for relaxing in the sunshine while taking in the passing vistas.
A staircase leads up to a spacious sun deck with large sun pads overlooking the bow, a seven-person jacuzzi, sit-up bar and an informal dining area for sumptuous dinners under starry night skies.
As lovely as her decks and interiors might be, it would be a shame not to make the most of NADAN’s toy box and 20' Novurania Catamaran tender. She also carries paddle boards, towable toys, water skis, wakeboards and snorkeling kit.
With a shallow draft of six feet NADAN can anchor closer to the shore in coves and sheltered bays or make the most of more boutique marinas. An advanced stabilization system on board reduces the side-to-side roll and promises smooth cruising at anchor and underway. A dedicated and experienced crew of seven ensures the personalized service and special touches that make a charter vacation on NADAN truly exceptional.
