For an unparalleled charter adventure, you need look no further than the stunning 287.5' (87.6m) ARCTIC. This magnificent expedition yacht began life as a deep-sea salvage tug and was one of two vessels that together served as flagships of the Bugsier salvage fleet. She was acquired by an Australian owner in 1993, who set to work on converting the vessel into a luxury explorer, a significant task that took place in Malta under the direction of Kusch Yachts. Her expedition credentials speak for themselves. In 2015, ARCTIC set a new Guinness World Record for the furthest voyage south, cruising 677 nautical miles from the South Pole and scooping the Voyager’s Award at the World Superyacht Awards 2015 for the journey. Further upgrades and a substantial 2020 refit solidify her standing as one of the most luxurious charter yachts of her kind anywhere. With superbly designed spaces, endless comfort and boundless opportunities for adventure, ARCTIC is perfect for those who wish to discover off-the-beaten-path destinations, pristine islands, unspoiled stretches of white sand and the turquoise waters of the South Pacific and Australasia.
While her exteriors speak to ARCTIC’s rugged tugboat past, her C. Kidston and A. Sassoon interiors are warm and traditional with home-from-home comforts and every possible amenity for long periods at sea. The generous volumes provide ample space for relaxing and dining. A cozy library on the owner’s deck is the perfect spot to retreat with a good book or to take on some friendly competition at the games table. The main salon is ideal for drinks and petit fours in front of the fireplace after dinner in the gorgeous wood-paneled formal dining room with its polished timber table for ten and lovely views. Other highlights include ARCTIC’s state-of-the-art gym and an intimate cinema with an amazing sound system and vibrating seating for a multi-sensory experience.
Expansive and supremely comfortable, ARCTIC’s seven staterooms offer tranquil havens for her 12 guests at the end of a busy day of action and adventure. The 295-square-foot forward-facing owner’s cabin is the ultimate retreat with a sumptuous lounge area, his and hers bathrooms, and easy access to the library with its impressive collection of books. The main deck VIP stateroom is equally luxurious with its separate living room and well-appointed en-suite bathroom. There are a further three double cabins and two twins with calming décor and a restful ambiance.
Deck spaces on ARCTIC are all about making the most of her incredible cruising grounds. The main deck aft, known as the beach house, offers a multi-functional sheltered area for an array of activities. A heated pool and jacuzzi sit side by side and the pool floor height can be adjusted at the touch of a button allowing a depth of two meters for scuba diving practice. When not in use, both pools can be covered as they sit flush with the surrounding teak deck and the dining table can be lowered to create a single space for entertaining.
On the upper aft deck guests will find a height-adjustable dining table that seats 12, or a formal dining table inside provides a secondary option in case of inclement weather. The top deck, known as Monkey Island, offers 360-degree views with forward-facing seats that can be used when the yacht is underway, low-slung tables for morning coffees and a casual dining area. There is also an extendable diving platform offering more fun in the sun. Meanwhile, the sundeck, located above the beach house, offers sun loungers and sun pads shaded by parasols in the heat of the day.
ARCTIC’s large swimming platform can be accessed directly from the beach house, which is also a launch pad for her impressive arsenal of toys and tenders. Built to travel the globe, ARCTIC is equipped to ensure her guests get the most out of each and every location. Her vast array of toys includes eight Jet Skis, the 46' Endeavour Tender, 42.6' Custom Tender, 39.4' Donzi Tender, 32.8' Riva Tender and 19.7' SeaDoo ski boat, as well as paddleboards and kayaks for exploring nearby shorelines and wildlife. A fully-equipped dive center and qualified dive instructors allow guests to explore the underwater wonders of ARCTIC’s cruising grounds, which take in marvels such as the Great Barrier Reef and the lagoons of French Polynesia.
ARCTIC’s 25 crew are energetic and knowledgeable professionals intent on making each trip more memorable that the last. With a charter vacation on ARCTIC, you are promised an adventure of a lifetime to far-flung destinations in luxurious comfort.
