The 65-foot (19.8m) ALTAIR is an attractive, light, fast and most importantly, a comfortable cruising yacht. Bill Tripp designed this beautiful yacht and Cantiere Pilot Sarl custom built her in Italy in 2010. She was conceived to be a fast Mediterranean and blue water sailing yacht. The yacht was built to CE category A, confirming her suitability for ocean sailing in waves exceeding 13 feet (4m) and winds over Beaufort force 8.
Sailing is easy and fun aboard ALTAIR. She features a Park Avenue boom, electric winches and an electric headstay furler. Maneuvering under power is aided by her 140hp engine and retractable bow-thruster. Additionally, the sailing yacht received new sails in 2019. ALTAIR has a good size tender garage in the transom and a large swim platform. Her cockpit is spacious with a dining area and twin wheels aft and offers perfect alfresco space whilst under sail or at anchor. The yacht’s forward flush deck allows for easy movement and her anchoring system is neatly recessed into a locker at the bow.
ALTAIR is a superb family sailing yacht — her interior is ideal for relaxing and is also practical at sea. She showcases a lovely raised salon with wrap-around windows, which flood the space with natural light. Perfect for unwinding after a day of sailing, the raised salon features a U-shaped sofa and dining area to port, with two seats and a navigation station to starboard. The sailing yacht has a well-equipped separate galley with Corian countertops and ample refrigeration and storage.
The luxury sailing yacht accommodates eight guests in four well-appointed cabins. Her forward master cabin offers a centreline double bed and an en-suite washroom with a separate shower compartment. The additional guest staterooms include a forward guest cabin with upper/lower berths and two aft cabins, each with two single beds —all three guest cabins have storage lockers and have an en-suite washroom and shower.
Originally named “DON PISCO” the yacht is now with her second owner. Her current owner has sailed from the Mediterranean to the Caribbean and back, holding testament to her impeccable comfort and sailing performance, testament to her impeccable comfort and sailing performance.
