2027 Tufan & Brothers Yachting Co 87ft

Inspired by naval vessels and the agility of mako sharks, this pocket explorer features a military-style profile, a robust steel hull and long-range transoceanic capabilities - all packed into a manageable 26.5-meter platform.

Built for those seeking autonomy and adventure, PROJECT MAKO SHARK is designed to thrive in all sea conditions. Her steel hull and aluminum superstructure give her the durability to handle long passages, while optional LFP batteries allow for silent nights at anchor. Her draft of just 1.8 meters and a beam of 7.63 meters make it easy for her to navigate shallow cruising grounds as well as tight marinas. Twin Cummins X15 630HP heavy-duty engines, enable her to cruise efficiently at 11 knots and have an impressive transoceanic range of up to 4,500 nautical miles at 8 knots.

PROJECT MAKO SHARK was designed by award-winning Rıza Tansu, known for their Tiger Shark Class aesthetic, in collaboration with Turkish boutique builder Tufan and Yachting Co., who are responsible for her naval architecture.

She has been designed with a clear focus on livability, flexibility and connection to the sea. Large social areas are spread across the decks, with each space shaped to promote interaction while offering the option for privacy when needed. Natural light floods the interior through oversized windows and openable portholes, creating a sense of openness that’s quite rare on yachts of this size.

PROJECT MAKO SHARK accommodates up to 10 guests in five staterooms, including a spacious master suite on the main deck with a king-sized bed, dedicated office space and an en-suite bathroom with a large rain shower set forward in the bow. The suite also benefits from openable portlights for natural airflow. Below deck are two VIP doubles, a twin cabin, and a convertible double/twin, each with its own en-suite and finished to the same high standard, including parquet flooring as standard.

One of the more interesting aspects of this project is that it offers two distinct configurations: a fully crew-operated version with a captain’s cabin and helm station on the upper deck, or an owner-operator version that swaps these spaces for a private sky lounge or upper salon. In both cases, the layout has been carefully considered to ensure full separation and privacy between guest and crew areas, with dedicated access routes to technical spaces and service zones.

PROJECT MAKO SHARK ‘s exterior spaces are built for functionality and smart use of space. The aft deck serves as a relaxed social hub with a shaded al-fresco dining area for up to eight guests, lounge seating and seamless flow into the main salon.

Up front, the foredeck is practical yet flexible, with U-shaped seating that converts into a sunbed, and space for either anchor equipment or tender storage. High bulwarks and a hydraulic windlass add safety and utility and the optional canopy adds shade for more comfortable use underway or at anchor.

The upper deck space includes lounge seating, sunbeds and an open-air helm station. The layout here shifts depending on the version - either a crewed setup with helm and captain’s cabin, or an owner-operated version with a sky lounge or upper salon.

The aft section holds a 1,000kg telescopic crane and space for al-fresco dining or tender storage. At the stern, the teak swim platform allows for easy water access and leads straight into the lazarette or engine room.

PROJECT MAKO SHARK is a rare blend of form and function - compact in size but packed with capability. She offers true transoceanic range, a shallow draft for flexible cruising and the durability of a steel hull beneath a clean, modern profile.
