Ocean Yachts was founded in 1977 in Mullica, New Jersey by John Leek IV’s grandfather, John Leek Jr., after he and partners sold Pacemaker Yachts. The Leek family has quite a boat building legacy that dates to the early 1700s. Although Ocean yachts are no longer in production, after the Mullica River facility was sold to Viking Yachts of New Gretna in 2015, John Leek IV, 14th generation boat builder, continues to build boats at the Viking Yachts Mullica boatyard.
