INDIGO was built for her current, experienced sailing owner.
Designed by Javier Soto Acebal, INDIGO is a custom and one-of-a-kind yacht built for warm water sailing by the M.L. and Bravo Shipyards in Brazil. She showcases clean lines and a flush deck laid with teak. The yacht boasts a large sheltered cockpit area where guests can sit or dine in comfort under sail or at anchor. INDIGO’s sail handling is operated predominately aft near the yacht’s twin helms; she has oversized sheet winches that are hydraulically operated.
Sailing yacht INDIGO’s interior is practical and comfortable at sea. Her salon is full beam and features a settee to starboard and a dining area with seating for eight on the port side. She also boasts a chart table aft of the salon that is well equipped with instruments, radio equipment and the electrical panel. The well equipped large galley area is on portside aft of the salon.
This luxury sailing yacht has a classic disposition. INDIGO accommodates eight guests in four staterooms. Her accommodation includes two twin staterooms mid ship and two staterooms forward. Each stateroom is complete with its own private en-suite bath. There is also a crew cabin aft for her two crew members.
The initial design provided for a large owner stateroom in the bow (where there are now two twin bed staterooms.) A new owner could refit this area if desired.
The vessel is a high performance fast cruiser also suited to regatta sailing.
Following delivery new the yacht was sailing in Brazil and Caribbean area 2011.
In 2012 they crossed to the Mediterranean, visiting Palma and cruising throughout the Med (Italy, Greece etc.) and back to the Caribbean. Since then she has cruised the South America area and San Blas islands and Caribbean – only for family use (not charter). She has competed in several races including the Recife to F. Noronha – and offshore race of 350 nm for which she beat the record, completing in less than 25 hours!
Summer 2017 INDIGO returned again to Spain.
Her owner is now retiring from yachting.
In a recent sailing trip, during 14 hrs INDIGO sailed from Palma to Valencia, with an average speed of 10 knots, and a top speed amazing 23.9 knots ! This in a Force 7 !
October 2018 INDIGO sailed to Gibraltar for her export from the EU and was in Valencia since then.
In July 2019 the yacht relocated to Barcelona for refit and upgrade work to be done. This included general servicing but also a full rig inspection, new seacocks, new batteries and some interior modifications to the port cabin.
NOTE: INDIGO does not have a dinghy garage in the stern. At build her owner opted to have a closed transom with swimming platform & steps and to have a large stowage area accessed from deck. The dinghy stows on the forward deck.
