Illusion of the Isles is a 30.2m sloop sailing yacht with a displacement hull, built by the Southern Wind Shipyard. Nauta Yachts was responsible for her beautiful exterior styling and interior design, and engineering by Farr Yacht Design.
Sailing yacht ILLUSION OF THE ISLES is a Southern Wind SW 100 DS superyacht launched in Cape Town in 2006. She is the second hull built in a successful series of performance orientated yachts which were designed by Farr Yacht Design with a powerful sail plan and comfortable yet high performance hull lines.
In the words of Southern Wind: "The SW 100 DS combines styling and performance, with reliability and safety for comfort and peace of mind during long blue water sailing."
This blue water cruiser combines the advanced composite construction techniques with the traditional carpentry of Southern Wind Shipyard, and is the ideal choice for both family use and
luxury charter. She was built to commercial, but the owner used her as a private yacht. She can be reverted and would make and excellent charter yacht buisness.
The deck plan of the SW 100 ILLUSION OF THE ISLES has been designed to allow easy sailing and comfort for both the crew and guests. The steering system of two-wheel pedestals grant an excellent visibility to the helmsman thus making the aft cockpit an ideal manoeuvring space, while a large sun-bathing area next to the central cockpit allows plenty of room for relaxing and socializing on deck.
Main Sail, primary and secondary winches are hydraulically operated. As well as most of the major functions on the SW 100 DS, such as the Passerelle, the anchor arm or the transom door which in the open position becomes a practical swimming or boarding platform.
In sailing yacht ILLUSION OF THE ISLES Nauta Design has used their Italian styling to create an interior that is both elegant, functional and comfortable. The lay-out features a clear separation between the crew quarter and the guests' and the owner's area.
The SW 100 DS ILLUSION OF THE ISLES is the second of a successful mini-series produced by Southern Wind Shipyard.
The first two years after she was built, she was in Commercial License but after that has been only privately used.
As she was built to Commercial regulations, she can be reverted if necessary
Designed by Nauta Design, the luxury sailing yacht’s interior is elegant, functional and comfortable. Guests can enjoy panoramic views while relaxing in the soothing main salon or relishing a delectable meal at the dining table. ILLUSION OF THE ISLES boasts an excellent layout that provides a separation between guest and crew areas.
ILLUSION OF THE ISLES welcomes eight guests in four well-appointed staterooms. Her master stateroom is a private oasis situated forward and is complete with a lovely en-suite bath. Her additional staterooms include a VIP and two identical twin staterooms — each with an en-suite bath.
The deck layout on yacht ILLUSION OF THE ISLES permits easy sailing with her twin wheel pedestals granting excellent visibility to the helmsman while maneuvering around the aft cockpit. Whether sailing or at anchor, the yacht’s splendid center cockpit with ample seating is the ideal spot for unwinding, socializing and sunbathing. Lowering ILLUSION OF THE ISLES transom door allows for easy boarding as well as provides a spectacular swim platform to enjoy the sea that surrounds.
