Christensen-built GRADE I was considered the most innovative and unique yacht of her size in the United States at the time of her launch in 1995. Previously known as Lady Bee, the 142’ (43.3m) GRADE I was the first US-built yacht to have an elevator (now removed) and ground-breaking ocean terrace. Meticulously maintained and upgraded since her delivery, she completed a comprehensive refit in 2018 and now offers charter guests to opportunity to experience her innovative style firsthand and in ultimate luxury.
GRADE I’s rich interiors are the work of Destry Darr and feature opulent styling, particularly in the main salon with its richly patterned upholstery in gold, cream and silver, ebony veneers and intricate marble. The generous lounge area is separated from the glass-topped formal dining table by an attractive onyx-covered cabinet. A beautiful chandelier provides added drama while near floor-to-ceiling windows allow natural light to illuminate the beautiful detailing. For more intimate gatherings, privacy blinds can be lowered around the entire salon. The upper deck skylounge is a much more relaxed affair with a stunning bar, sumptuous blue leather sofas and ottomans, and the perfect set up for popcorn and movie nights. There is also a handy games table for friendly competition over cards, A shimmering staircase of wood, glass and chrome connects the floors, highlighted by mother-of-pearl wall coverings to striking effect, and flanked by a full-height bronze statue.
There are six well-appointed staterooms for GRADE I’s 12 guests including a beautiful full beam, main-deck master suite. The décor is sumptuous with lush fabrics in rich cream and gold, and glittering accessories. There is a separate office, his-and-hers en-suite bathroom with a Jacuzzi and huge central rain shower. On the lower deck GRADE I has an additional five staterooms, four with queen-size beds and one twin all of which feature beautiful en-suite bathrooms and state-of-the-art entertainment systems.
Guests on GRADE I have amazing spaces for relaxing, sunbathing and socializing on her generous decks. Her large sundeck has plenty of room for tanning on the expansive sun pads and there’s a Jacuzzi for cooling dips. The barbecue and dining table make this the perfect spot for casual lunches under the sun. The aft deck has a marble-topped bar for tropical cocktails and a perfectly designed space for dinners alfresco or soirees in port. Yet more space for alfresco dining and entertaining can be found on the upper deck shaded by the sundeck overhang. Once the tender is launched, there’s even space for sun loungers or morning yoga.
GRADE I is well known in her Caribbean cruising grounds and it the ideal choice for exploring the stunning destinations in the region. Her extended swimming platform allows guests to dive into the crystal waters and make the most of GRADE I’s arsenal of toys including her 42’ Yellow Fin center console and 19’ Novurania Tender and 3 Sea-Doo WaveRunners. She also counts scuba diving equipment and 2 Seabobs in her arsenal along with a raft of towable toys, water skis, snorkelling kit and everything needed for deep sea fishing adventures.
