The resurrection of Angelus

Navigator News > Company News

Founded by the Stolz brothers in 1891, Angelus watches were known for their world-class precision and were coveted by connoisseurs of horology. The superior craftsmanship of the timepieces created by Angelus won award after award throughout the years. During the quartz crisis of the 1970s Angelus stopped production, but in 2011 Manufacture La Joux-Perret SA in La Chaux-de-Fonds and its CEO Frédéric Wenger and Head of Innovation Dr Sébastien Chaulmontet, breathed new life into the brand. Now, with the help of the renowned and impeccably skilled new ownership, Angelus is back on track as a high-end timepiece manufacturer to watch.

Angelus has spent the last four years in development, creating a new level of timepieces that honor its proven and inspired name. Using complications from classic watchmaking and state-of-the-art technology and modern designs, Angelus is poised to offer watches with impressive craftsmanship that hold true to its history, but also are innovative and current.

Angelus has launched the U10 Tourbillon Lumière to showcase its dramatic return. Stylish and sleek, the U10 Tourbillon Lumière harkens back to the designers of the 1970s, while keeping in step with modern fashion and cutting-edge technique. The radical deconstructed movement of the U10 Tourbillon Lumière is impressive. It features hours, minutes, dead-beat seconds and a one-minute flying tourbillon. Additionally, it has a 90-hour linear power reserve indicator on the case profile. The U10 Tourbillon Lumière is striking in annealed steel with sapphire crystals.
