Northrop & Johnson enjoyed a strong presence at the 2019 MYBA Barcelona Charter Show.

Northrop & Johnson kicked off the show with a cocktail party at Oaxaca, a lively Mexican restaurant, where captains and crew joined the N&J team for networking and camaraderie. Northrop & Johnson CEO Kevin Merrigan welcomed everyone and Marcy Williams introduced Northrop & Johnson’s crew services.

Four yachts, the 138-foot (42.2m) Sanlorenzo luxury yacht MOKA, 142-foot (43.4m) Royal Denship luxury yacht BACA, the 172-foot (52.3m) Amels superyacht APRIL and the 236-foot (72m) Tankoa Yachts superyacht SOLO, from our impressive charter fleet were on display. All of Northrop & Johnson’s yachts enjoyed much acclaim as brokers from around the world took tours and enjoyed lunches aboard.SOLO welcomed 165 brokers throughout the four-day show. Captain Renzo hosted two delicious lunches perfectly realized by Chef Gionata and served in a refined atmosphere by Chief Stewardess Léna and the interior team. Bottles of Italian wine provided by Torciano Wines were offered to brokers who shared praising comments after their visits aboard.

MOKA was one of the top attractions of the show. This explorer-style yacht became a must-see, welcoming more than 150 brokers, after an incredible lunch created by her excellent chef and served by her five-star interior team. MOKA’s large pool with contra-jets and integrated Jacuzzi along with her smart deck layout were acclaimed by all visitors. MOKA is based in Palma and is well suited for family charters. She also is ideal for groups of friends that enjoy water sports and want to explore the different facets of the Balearic islands.

One of the most sought-after yachts at the show was luxury motor yacht APRIL as she is recent addition to the global charter fleet. After her launch, she circumnavigated the world with her owner and now is available for guests to enjoy. The MYBA show presented the first opportunity for inspection since joining the fleet; she was incredibly well received. In addition, APRIL was awarded top table service team winner. Led by Chief Stewardess India Lewis, the interior team provided impeccable service during the MYBA Charter Show Crew competition. The chef of APRIL won honorable mention for food creativity. Barcelona was the perfect platform for the unveiling of the rebirth of the spectacular yacht now named BACA. Fresh from a $2-million-dollar rebuild and boasting a brand-new interior by Claudette Bonville, BACA wowed more than 150 Brokers throughout the four-day show. Chef Mel Hefferman hosted a well-received, spectacular lunch aboard in addition to a wine tasting event courtesy of BACA & HALL Winery. This sumptuous luxury yacht certainly was one of the highlights of the show.

It is no doubt that the MYBA charter show in Barcelona was one of the best in history in terms of yachts, attendees and networking opportunities. It was an exceptional show and we are sure that it will play a pivotal role in securing bookings and generating charters for our fleet of yachts. Northrop & Johnson charter team would like to thank everyone who took part; we look forward to seeing you on the docks again soon.
