Waterfall Wilderness Dining

Posted August 15, 2016 in Estate by Janine St.Denis

Imagine sitting next to a beautiful waterfall surrounded by nature and a dining table for two. Well, this is all possible at Treetops Lodge & Estate in Rotorua.

The evening starts with a 15-minute escorted walk to a natural rock platform beside the natural swimming hole below the Treetops’ Bridal Veil Falls. From there, a personal chef and a dedicated waiter will serve you a five-course meal based on the homegrown produce of Treetops Estate matched with New Zealand wines.

Dinner includes fresh salads and vegetables from the resort’s estate gardens and estate-reared boar, venison or pheasant. While desserts include orchard-harvested fruits, native berries and Manuka honey from Treetops’ own beehives.

Aside from your special dinner, there is the 2500-acre estate offering various activities, such as cooking classes, photography, 4WD safaris, helicopter tours, Maori poi making and flax weaving. Mountain biking, hiking to active volcanoes and use at the nearby Kinloch Golf Course also are on the agenda.
