Carine Zanotti

My Present
Hi, my name is Carine Zanotti, Charter Marketing Manager at Northrop & Johnson. I have spent the last 15 years managing luxury motor and sailing yachts up to 99m garnering an incredible wealth of experience and knowledge in the process. More recently, I have been able to represent explorer yachts which have led me to discover new cruising grounds, learn about new destinations and fulfill new expectations. Being part of the Northrop & Johnson charter team allows me to work in an environment with people who similarly showcase curiosity and willingness to learn.

My Past
I was born and raised on the French Riviera. My two passions in Life are the sea world and the cinema. My very first playground was the sea as my father was a sea-rower athlete. He included me on every possible embarkation, from slim rowing boats to power RIB ones to follow the races. This love for being on the water was fulfilled by my first experience on a sailing yacht. While registering one of my fleet yachts for a regatta, I ended up racing with the owner and crew. From the Voiles de St Tropez to the St Barth Bucket, they brought me everywhere with them. That was it; I was hooked on sailing. This helped me to better understand how crew, owner and guests interact with each other on board which helps in my day-to-day job.

My second playground was the Cannes Film Festival and movie theatres. From one passion to another, I started to work in the film industry. I experienced various productions such as music videos, commercials and feature films, gaining organizational skills as well as the ability to deal with stressful situations, which has helped me to handle my current job as a fleet charter manager.

My Future
I am a keen traveler and thanks to my job, my passion for travel has been fulfilled. I have been lucky to visit some of the best places in the world surrounded by professionals of the ocean from experienced divers to coral gardeners. I was fortunate to dive into some of the most beautiful reefs in the world and in some of the most protected areas. However, this is also how I discovered and realized how fragile, even remote places, are. I see the urge to implicate the yachting industry in taking action in the oceans’ conservation. I would like to be part of the people that will inform, educate, and help find solutions so we don’t ruin this beautiful environment that we cherish so much.

My Outside-office Life
I am a foodie, I love discovering new recipes, new restaurants, and new ingredients. When I travel, I enjoy being invited by locals to their homes or favorite restaurants as I think there is no better way to share ideas and discussions about life than around a table! I am also a keen photographer, I like to see life through different angles! If you don’t see me under water, I’ll probably be hiking somewhere in the Alps, my favorite trek being la Vallée des Merveilles.

• A famous musician once told me that during a concert the instrument you hear the most is the one you should be playing; I should be a bass guitar player then.
• I worked as a volunteer for music festivals for many years just because I love live music.
